  I am, shall we say, an experienced dental patient. I've had many procedures through the years. My previous dentist told me I had a cracked crown, and it needed replacing. Got a leaflet for Longleaf Dentistry in the mail and read the great reviews online. Decided to go in to check out the practice. It is much closer to my new home than my old practice. X rays were a breeze and the cleaning did not involve scraping. Consulted with Dr. Thomas, a very down to earth and friendly dentist, and decided on the spot to have two crowns replaced (had a chip/decay on another crown). In case you have any doubts about the need, you get x-rays, photos and videos of your mouth in real time. What would have taken several visits was completed on the spot with a machine that does 3D modeling of your tooth and jaw and the crown is made using a 3D printer? somehow. 2 1/2 hours, and off I went. The crowns fit great and I've had no problems. They are made of a material that is significantly stronger than porcelain. My low end dental plan didn't cover crowns, but Longleaf has a plan that gives 15% discount for the procedures and preventive care. It certainly blew the budget this month, but the pricing seemed very fair, and I saved a lot of time doing everything in one visit. This is a whiz bang practice with the latest tech which, it turns out, is an excellent thing. Don't hesitate to make this practice your dental home.
